DISCIPLINE PROCEDURE

All discipline is administered in love. Our desire is to change the inappropriate behavior.  Time-out and redirection are the only disciplinary techniques we use.  If there are extreme problems with behavior, parents may be asked to remove their child temporarily or permanently. Koala House reserves the right to dismiss a child at any time, upon the discretion of the administration.

Our discipline procedure is as follows:

1st incident – An incident form will be filled out and the parent will be required to sign the form.

2nd incident – The parent of the child will be called and asked to pick up the child for the remainder of the day. Child may return to school the following day.

3rd incident – Parents will be called to pick up the child from the school. The child will be suspended from the school for three days. The regular school fee will continue to be charged.

4th incident – The child will be suspended from the school. We will not disclose the name of a child who inflicts an injury to another child. This ensures the confidentiality of all children in our care.

BITING IS A VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS OCCURRENCE WITH YOUNG CHILDREN. The staff will work with the child and family to stop the biting. If biting continues, a child may be subject to dismissal from school.
